Kate Appleman MA, MBA, LPC, CAADC, CSAT, CCS


Kate Appleman is the Executive Vice President for Clinical Programming at Caron Treatment Centers.

She oversees clinical operations on Caron’s Wernersville, Pennsylvania, campus, including Core, Signature, PHP, Breakthrough, and spiritual programming.

Since joining Caron in 2002, Kate has held various clinical and leadership positions, most recently serving as the corporate director of clinical practice and professional development. Prior to taking on this role in 2022, she was senior clinical director of men’s services, overseeing treatment programs and services while building a strong foundation for staff growth and professional development.

Since 2013, she has supported and been actively involved in the development of evidence-based clinical programming for executives, healthcare professionals, legal professionals, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and those with an opioid addiction.

Her areas of expertise include motivational interviewing, working with family systems, relapse treatment and prevention, and men's addiction treatment and recovery.

Kate is a certified clinical supervisor and a certified advanced alcohol and drug counselor and is a certified sex addiction therapist (CSAT) and certified multiple addiction therapist (CMAT). She received a Master of Arts in Counseling Psychology degree from Rosemont College, Rosemont, Pennsylvania, in 2010 and a Master of Business Administration from Penn West University of Pennsylvania in 2023. She received a Bachelor of Social Work degree from Alvernia University, Reading, Pennsylvania, in 2006.
