Dr. Corinne Van Houten


Corinne Van Houten grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and received a Masters degree in Religion and Art History and a Doctorate in Art History, Women’s Studies and Literary Criticism both from the Institute of the Liberal Arts at Emory University. She has lived in Amsterdam, The Netherlands, Paris, France, San Rafael, California, Portland, Oregon and now resides with her husband and beloved dog, Ella, in Sacramento, California. Her son and daughter are now adults living away from home and have played major roles in her academic and literary work. She has written reviews on contemporary art for several publications as well as a book on a contemporary Dutch artist, Rik van Iersel, a novel, A Feast of Small Surprises, and produced an audio wine tour for people, like her, who love wine and the beautiful wineries in Napa and Sonoma, California.
